PREVOST CONSTRUCTION COMPLETES TENANT IMPROVEMENTS FOR ANAPTYSBIO

SAN DIEGO - Prevost Construction continues to strengthen its role in the San Diego life science real estate community, with its recent build-out of AnaptysBio's 16,500-square-foot office and laboratory facility at 10835 Road to the Cure in La Jolla, Calif. In the past year, including AnaptysBio, Prevost has completed tenant improvements for more than a dozen life science companies totaling over 150,000 square feet.

In just three months, Prevost completed the $660,000 project for AnaptysBio, a privately-held therapeutic antibody product company and the leader in the use of SHM for antibody discovery and optimization. The scope of work included converting half of the existing lab facility to executive office space and renovating the biology lab and tissue culture labs. Additionally, a new multi-purpose room and a board room were added.

Prevost was retained by the building's owner, BioMed Realty Trust, a REIT focused on providing real estate to the Life Science Industry, because of its technical expertise for laboratory work.

AnaptysBio's facility is Prevost's second project for BioMed Realty Trust in 2008. In March, the company completed a 10,278-square-foot renovation of a chemistry and biology lab for cancer research firm, Apoptos.

"Prevost's experience set the stage for a smooth construction process," said Ed Marples, associate director of operations for AnaptysBio. "The company's deep understanding of the complexities of life science facilities was reflected throughout the entire process. There were no project delays and we experienced no downtime in our move. The result was superior."

"We take pride in our extensive experience in life science facilities ranging from wet labs to clean rooms," said Jamie Prevost, president of Prevost Construction. "Our team understands the complex mechanical requirements as well as the special provisions for a wide variety of gases and chemicals used in these vital industries. This knowledge, coupled with the ability to manage the entire process efficiently and effectively, is why owners continue to come back to us for future projects."

For AnaptysBio, Michael Soth was project manager and Eli Howe was the superintendent for Prevost Construction. Subcontractors included AO Reed, Cooper Electric, KT Construction, AAA Fire, CMS Interiors, Hanson Lab Furniture, General Coatings and Pacific Coast Commercial Flooring.

About AnaptysBio
AnaptysBio is a privately-held developer of therapeutic antibody products and the leader in the use of SHM for antibody discovery and optimization. SHM, or somatic hypermutation, is the natural process our bodies use for generating antibody diversity to fight disease. Our Omnitope-SHM System utilizes the key components of SHM and flow cytometry technology to enable the rapid variation and selection of antibodies with enhanced bioactivities. In addition to providing a more powerful approach to antibody discovery and protein optimization, it addresses a growing void in the therapeutic antibody field due to a string of acquisitions and licensing deals that have reduced the availability of many technologies.
