

PREVOST COMPLETES AROMA HOUSEWARES PROJECT
Prevost completed construction in August for Aroma Industries at 6451 Flanders Drive in San Diego. Aroma is the maker of household appliances such as rice cookers, electric grills, deep fryers and toaster ovens. The new facility serves as their U.S. headquarters for all operations. The project consisted of a new 12,000 sf concrete tilt up building added onto an existing structure, providing for an expanded warehouse, 5,000 SF mezzanine, and 10,000 Sf of office build out. The Prevost team also added another 3,000 SF mezzanine and renovated 9,000 of office space within the existing 60,000 sf building. Exterior landscaping and parking were also modified to accommodate the new building layout. Design was done by Kenneth D. Smith Architect and Associates, Inc. Prevost Construction team included Keith Cardinale as project manager, JR Garza as superintendent and Kristineh Hiett as project engineer. Subcontractors included Thunder Jones Contracting, Broyles Landscaping, Brady Company, D.A. Whitacre, Struc Steel, Hess Roofing, Buxcon Sheet Metal, Russell Glass, A&D Fire, Millwork Co., KMP Plumbing, Berg Electric, Apex Mechanical, Scott Michael Plumbing, Zypher Painting, Western Insulation, SCS Flooring, Foreman Tile, Panoramic Construction, H&H Demo and Blue Horizons. The complete project value was approx. $1.8 million dollars. Aroma Housewares maintained full operations during the construction process.
