Prevost Construction was retained to carefully renovate and expand an existing organic chemistry lab for Sequenom Industrial
Genomics while the facility was in full operation.
The project included the removal of all ceilings within the 6,000-square-foot lab area to upsize the ductwork and provide new
equipment to accommodate the addition of seven new chemical fume hoods. Reworking of the existing lab benches within the
reconfigured space, including the de-ionized water, argon gas, compressed air and vacuum systems, were accomplished within
a six-week timeframe. All renovations were implemented without interruption to the company's on-going experiments in the
adjacent laboratory areas.
